According to intelligence inputs, many launch pads were struck, and several terrorists and Pakistani Rangers were killed during pinpoint attacks, said Shashank Anand, Inspector General of the BSF, Jammu Frontier.
"The BSF continued to dominate the field aggressively after April 22, even while the Pakistani Rangers decreased their presence at front positions. According to Anand, "Our forces, including women personnel, remained steady and ready for eventuality."
According to DIG Indreshwar, BSF surveillance systems picked up the movement of 40–50 terrorists close to Sialkot on the evening of May 8. He claimed that in order to stop their attempt at infiltration, "we launched a preemptive strike in the Samba region."
