
May 30, 2025: In his first review of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir during the ongoing Operation Sindoor, Union Home Minister Amit Shah focused on anti-terror operations and preparations for the forthcoming annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji.
To chair the high-level security review meeting, which was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Army chief Gen. Upendra Dwivedi, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, and other top officials from the MHA, Army, paramilitary forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, civil administration, and intelligence agencies from the Center and the UT, Shah arrived here late this evening after a two-day visit to the area.
The meeting went on for about an hour and a half.
Tomorrow, the Home Minister will travel to the border district of Poonch, where he will speak to the citizens affected by the shelling in Pakistan, visit damaged places of worship, deliver appointment letters to the relatives of those murdered in the shelling, and meet with BSF forces at their Unit Headquarters in Khanetar.
The Home Minister gave the order to exercise the highest level of vigilance and guarantee the smooth completion of the holy journey after assessing the security measures and readiness intended for pilgrims to Shri Amarnath Ji.
He declared that every effort will be made by the Central Government and the administration of Jammu and Kashmir to provide the pilgrims with all the amenities they require.
