June 27, 2025: Potholes have been a long-standing problem on Indian roads. They not only cause problems, but they can also lead to dangerous situations. However, thanks to his new civic-tech invention, a Bengaluru resident now has a solution. Shantanu Goel, a techie from Bengaluru, shared a pothole tracker made by a user probably named dev via his X. “The purpose of creating https://blr-potholes.pages.dev was to make Bengaluru's roads safer. I hope they are not persecuted by the machinery instead,” he wrote in the caption.
Internet is appreciating this initiation and many thanked the creator for easing their everyday struggle that comes along the crumbling roads of Bengaluru.
“Whoever made this - Give him Z+ security asap,” said a user. “Brilliant,” said another.
X users also criticized government for the potholes. “When the government fails to fulfil its responsibilities, it falls on the citizens to step in and take action,” read a comment. While another said, “Would love for a weekly report to be sent to the local municipal offices.”
