July 29, 2025: In an initiative aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and entrepreneurial action, the University of Jammu (JU) on Monday hosted Vikram Upadhyay, entrepreneur and founder of Greenhouse Ventures Pvt Ltd (GHV), for a forward-looking interaction with the university leadership.
By joining global innovation networks and startup ecosystems, the JU Centre for IT Enabled Services and Management made a significant contribution to the development of a vibrant startup culture on campus.
Upadhyay, who is also in charge of the Mobility and Automobile Innovation Lab, went to the Centre to look into making a good alliance. In particular in cross-border contexts between India and Japan, the collaboration aims to provide students with access to cutting-edge technologies and startup incubation models. The initiative aims to cultivate entrepreneurial thinking among students and equip them with the skills needed to succeed globally.
Chairing the session, JU Vice Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai stressed the growing importance of industry-academia collaboration. By connecting our students to global startup networks and innovation hubs, this collaboration has the potential to transform the learning environment. It is a vital step towards ensuring that education translates into enterprise,” he said.
Upadhyay told the personal story of how GHV Accelerator came to be, saying that it was "born out of sheer passion."
