Aug 7, 2025: On its way to the Himalayan cave in the South Kashmir district of Anantnag, the Chhari Mubarak (holy mace) of Shri Amarnath Ji, which spent two nights at Pahalgam after departing from its abode Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar, left for its next stop, Chandanwari, on August 4. Mahant Deependra Giri Ji, the sole keeper of the holy mace and Sadhus, used to perform Puja Archana in a traditional manner at Pahalgam. As the holy mace left Pahalgam `Bum Bum Bhole’ rent the air. It reached Chandanwari in the afternoon.
Tomorrow morning, Chhari Mubarak will travel to Sheshnag from Chandanwari. On August 8, it will depart for Panchtarni, the final halting camp on its way to the cave shrine, following a night's rest at Sheshnag. The holy mace will depart Panchtarnai early on August 9 for the cave shrine, which is also the day of the Raksha Bandhan and Shravan Purnima festivals. The holy mace will return to Panchtarni in the evening after performing religious rituals and puja throughout the day at the cave shrine. From there, it will travel to Pahalgam, where it will travel the following day to Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar. With this the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra of 2025 will culminate.
