Aug 13, 2025: Participating in the nationwide "Har Ghar Tiranga campaign" in advance of Independence Day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his wife Sonal Shah hoisted the tricolor at their residence in Delhi's Krishna Menon Marg. His home was also decorated in the colors of the Indian flag, and images from his house showed him and his wife lifting the Tiranga, which was several feet long, on his terrace. The fourth edition of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, which was launched under the auspices of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, was announced on August 11 by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The goal of the campaign is to encourage citizens all over the country to incorporate the Tiranga, the Indian National Flag, into their homes and hearts. The campaign, carried out across the country, has become a people’s movement, with over 5 lakh young people registering in the fourth year of the campaign, according to a statement from the Ministry of Culture.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, stated, "We are going to celebrate the fourth edition of Tiranga campaign this year." For this campaign, more than 5 lakh youths have registered as volunteers. The Tiranga campaign will gain support from these young people. Shekhawat stated at a press conference that Har Ghar Tiranga is more than just a campaign; rather, it is an emotional movement that brings together 1.4 billion Indians under the enduring colors of our national flag. It aims to instill patriotism, foster civic pride and spread awareness about the significance of the Tiranga as a living symbol of our democracy and independence.

This time, Vivek Aggarwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, used PowerPoint to give a comprehensive overview of the Tiranga Campaign. Both Abhijit Sinha, Additional Secretary for the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Samir Kumar, Economic Advisor for the Ministry of Jal Shakti, provided information regarding the particulars of the upcoming events that will be held by their respective ministries. The occasion was also attended by senior members of the Ministry of Culture and the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). Har Ghar Tiranga encourages every Indian to hoist the Tiranga with pride and honor to mark the celebration of India's independence. It was designed to transform the relationship between citizens and the National Flag from a formal and institutional association into a deeply personal bond. Bringing the Tiranga home is not only an expression of personal connection, but also a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to nation-building, according to the statement. The initiative holds profound symbolic value. It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom and as a pledge to uphold the values of unity, integrity, and progress.
