The easiest way of gaining access to the Audi Owners club in India is to buy an A3 sedan. However, there were some complaints about the current model not being sufficiently feature rich. However, the German automotive manufacturer will launch a new version of this car in India. We tell you what you can expect from it.

The facelift will also include a revision in powertrain for the A3. The car will now get the 1.4 litre, 4 cylinder, turbocharged TSI petrol engine that puts out 150 hp and an updated transmission as well. It may be noted that this is the same motor that lives under the bonnet of the larger A4. For now, we do not have confirmed details of a diesel engine for the A3, although that could be in the works as well.

The new Audi A3 will also get the famed matrix LED headlight clusters (most likely as an optional extra), but the standard bi-xenon headlamps have been redesigned as well. The Singleframe front grille and front bumper have been remodelled slightly, and the air intakes are now larger than those on the current generation A3.

The inside is still typical Audi fare but, it now gets the fantastic 12.3 inch Audi Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster and a flat-bottomed multifunction steering wheel. The 7 inch MMI infotainment system has also received an overhaul. With this upgrade, the Audi A3 is better equipped to tackle its competition in the Indian automotive space.
