With the technological advancements, even for the motorcycle sector, increase in the number of high power motorcycles has been a constant trend. Stepping up with this trend, KTM has decided to shift the strategy of focussing on affordable single cylinder units to a powerful double cylinder setup with the KTM 790 Duke. This powerful motorcycle was first showcased at the EICMA 2016 while in the prototype stage. The motorcycle is currently been spotted in a production ready stage.

The new KTM 790 Duke gets the same ride-by-wire, just like the ones we have seen on the KTM 390 Duke. The rear section gets fresh hand rails. At the front, the headlamp console contains traces of similarity to the LED unit that we have seen in the 2017 edition of the 390 Duke. The instrument cluster will be the same as what we get in the present model.

On the mechanical front, the KTM 790 Duke gets powerful features like a twin cylinder engine, which is termed as LC8c. The resulting engine may be able to produce a whopping 100 to 110 bhp. Apart from this, since it is set to be a premium motorcycle, it is expected to get multiple riding modes. The suspension duties are taken care of by upside down fork at the front and monoshock at the rear. Double front disc and single rear disc along with dual channel ABS will be standard.

Consisting a parallel twin cylinder mill, the KTM 790 Duke will be placed above the 690 Duke, which has a single cylinder unit. This new KTM 790 Duke is expected to be production ready by the EICMA 2017.
