The BJP today urged the people not to fall into the trap of the separatist leaders in the Kashmir valley.
In a statement issued here, BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir asked the people of Kashmir to “wake up and stop falling into the trap of separatists.”
He further said the separatists had been “hoodwinking the people on the pretext of azadi” and turned the “children of the lesser God into cannon-fodder” while their “own children and wards are enjoying all privileges.”
“The separatists have been thronging the graveyards. They give fiery speeches at the graveyards of youth and salute the parents for having produced a martyr. They (separatists) don’t leave any opportunity to get their photos clicked and ensure these get wide publicity. Then they forget, leaving the broken parents distraught for their entire lives,” Jehangir added.
He claimed that several family members of the separatists had taken up government jobs and that it should not shock people.
“Job to (Hurriyat leader Syed Ali) Geelani’s grandson is nothing new that should shock the people of Kashmir. Geelani’s son is a government doctor and so are the kin of many secessionists,” he said.
The BJP spokesman added that the separatists during the past 27 years have filled their coffers at the cost of the poor people of Kashmir.”
