BMW Motorrad had revealed the naked roadster motorcycle, the BMW G310R, back in 2015. It was later shown at the Auto Expo in Delhi in 2016 and was expected to be launched in April 2017. However, according to the recent reports, the company will now be launching the naked motorcycle during the last quarter of the year.

There are many rumours that could have possibly caused the company to postpone the launch. According to some rumours, it was assumed that BMW Motorrad was unable to come to a conclusion regarding the price of the BMW G310R. A low price would impart negative impression about the company itself. On the other hand, a high price tag may not attract a high number of buyers. The competitors in this segment are priced very aggressively as well.

The BMW G310R is one of the company’s most anticipated naked street motorcycle and will be getting a 313 cc liquid cooled, fuel injected engine at the heart. This engine will be able to make a maximum power of 33.5 bhp at 9,500 revolutions per minute and a highest torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 revolutions per minute. The transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed transmission gearbox. This engine will be good enough to drive the motorcycle at a top speed of 145 kms per hour.

Aesthetically, the BMW G310R will be seen with a fuel tank that will be inspired from TVS Draken, single projector headlamps, bigger radiator grille and a side mounted exhaust system.

The to-be-launched BMW G310R will be available in two variants - ABS and non-ABS. The price of this naked street motorcycle is expected to be anywhere over Rs. 2 lakhs.

Once launched, it will be up against the likes of experienced players in the segment like KTM Duke 390, Benelli TNT300 and Bajaj Dominar 400.
