In the latest National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF-2017) by MHRD, Jammu University is also on top among all universities in J&K while the Kashmir University has secured 73 rank in the list.
The NIRF outlines a methodology to rank academic, technology and research institutions across the country on the basis of standard parameters. JU had volunteered to participate in the NIRF last year when it had secured 64th rank.
According to Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Director, DIQA, the process involved online submission of extensive data pertaining to different aspects of functioning of the University namely teaching-learning resources, research, professional practice & collaborative performance, graduate outcomes, outreach & inclusivity and perception.
It is pertinent to mention here that the number of participating Institutions this year was substantially higher as compared to the last year.
