Two Days International Conference on “Islamic Banking and finance" starts at BGSBU.

The School of Management Studies & Social Sciences, BGSBU organised a Two Days International Conference on “Islamic Banking and finance: way forward for inclusive and sustainable development” at BGSBU sponsored by Khyber Industries, Srinagar & J&K Bank Ltd. in the university campus.

The objective of the seminar is to acquaint scholars from both academia & Industry about the concept of Islamic Banking & various opportunities & Challenges for its future growth.The event was organised under the guidance and directions of Prof.Javed Mussarat, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BGSBU who is always keen to organise & provide full support for such activities in the university campus.

About 150 delegates from various parts of the country have registered for the conference.The conference started with the memento presentation to the Key note speakers of the Conference Prof. M. M.Majeed, Dean, IIBF, Hyderabad, Mr. Riaz Trumboo and Jenab Mufti Nazir Ahmad.The welcome address was presented by Mr.Danish Iqbal Raina organising secretary of the Conference. The Key note addresses were delivered by Prof. M. M.Majeed, Dean, IIBF, Hyderabad. In his address he highlighted the various global and local perspective of Islamic banking and finace and stressed upon the need of introducing Islamic banking system in the state of jammu and Kashmir. Jenab Mufti Nazir highlighted the religious prospective of Islamic Banking and finance and presented the historic bank ground of the concept. He highlighted various terminologies being used in Islamic Fiancé and highlighted the importance of Islamic banking system for equitable and inclusive growth and development.

Vice Chancellor,Prof Javed Mussarat in his inaugural address stressed upon the need of linkage between industry and academia for the creation and dissemination of knowledge for the betterment of the society. He highlighted his optimism with regard to the opening up of Islamic banking and finance at a much larger level. He highlighted his vision for developing BGSBU as centre for academic research and excellence. Dr. Javed Iqbal Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies presented the vote of thanks to the guests & dignitaries in the inaugural session for making this event a successful.

Those who were present on the occasion included, Prof M Asgher, Dean of Students, Prof Shabir Shah, principal GDC Rajouri, Mushtaq Raina, Executive Engineer and many other prominent citizens, a large number of students and scholars were also present on the occasion.
