The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Friday launched a major driver against unauthorisedly installed signboards, billboards and hoardings within the municipal limits of the city.

During the drive, 10 trucks of illegal advertisement material, which had been erected and displayed in an unauthorised way at public places in violation of the Advertisement Policy 2010, were removed.

“It has been noticed that some hoardings, signboards, posters, banners and billboards have been displayed and installed at public places and private buildings within the Jammu Municipal limits in total disregard of the rules and in violation of the Advertisement Policy, 2010, without seeking any prior permission from the corporation,” said Tinna Mahaan, municipal secretary, who led the field team.
