Amidst coronavirus scare in Jammu and Kashmir, industrial units have decided to provide sanitisers and masks to workers and organise awareness sessions to prevent its spread.

Manufacturers have urged the government to ensure adequate supply to industries so that production does not get affected and spread of Covid is prevented.

The Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) held a meeting and discussed measures to be taken to prevent its spread in manufacturing units which employs thousands of workers.

“Prevention is the only way to stop the spread. If any case of Covid is detected, it will severely affect the industrial sector that is already facing severe financial losses. Every industry management has been asked to take preventive steps,” said Lalit Mahajan, president, BBIA.

He said the ESI Hospital at Bari Brahmana had established an isolation ward in the hospital to deal with any eventuality.
