The Army, today paid rich tributes to a soldier, who died after slipping from a mountain near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.

An Army official said that a soldier and a porter slipped from a snow-clad mountain near a forward post at LoC in Boniyar, Uri on Saturday. “After strenuous efforts, the body of the 35-year-old soldier, identified as NK Uttam Singh, was recovered while the porter was rescued in critical condition,” he said.
