In the Ranji Trophy match against Assam in the Ranji Trophy at home ground, host J&K have scored 210 runs for two wickets till the end of the second day's play. The second day of the match started late due to poor lighting. A 135-run partnership between Shubham Khajuria and Suryansh Raina played ahead of 59 runs for one wicket in the first innings. In 44 overs of the match, J&K suffered a second setback as opener Suresh Raina (73). On home ground, Shubham (87) leads the power.

The match started late due to poor light on the second day, like the first day in the four-day match playing at GGM Science College ground. Shubham Khajuria and Surrash Raina batted unbeaten on the second day, playing ahead of 59 runs. The wickets did not fall with both being run fast. J&K had scored 100 runs in the 27th over. After tea Suresh Raina and Shubham completed their fifties.

After this, both the batsmen showed their patience and skill and did not give the guest bowlers any chance to take wickets. In the 47th over of the match, the wicket of Suresh Raina (73) fell. Hinan Nazir (13), who came out to bat after this, had an unbeaten 31-run partnership with Shubham Khajuria until the match was stopped due to poor light. The match will be played on the third day on Friday. J&K will score a quick run to invite the team to bat.
