Teacher's Day, 2020

5th-September-2020

Teachers' Day is celebrated every year on the 5th of September, which also marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was an Indian philosopher and the second President of India.
Teachers' Day is a special day for the appreciation of teachers and may include celebrations to honor them for their special contributions in a particular field area or the community in general.

In the wake of Coronavirus pandemic, all the schools have been closed for the last few months. With online classes, students and teachers will now be celebrating Teachers' Day 2020 virtually. Every year, students prepare a speech for their teachers, to convey their wishes and gratitude. Even this year, students can prepare a speech at home, which can be performed online during virtual celebrations.

The idea of celebrating Teachers' Day took root in many countries during the 19th century in most cases, they celebrate a local educator or an important milestone in education. This is the primary reason why countries celebrate this day on different dates unlike many other International Days.

Many countries celebrate their Teachers' Day on 5th October in conjunction with World Teachers' Day, which was established by UNESCO in 1994.
