The body of an engineer who went missing last week was found in the Jhelum River in JandK's Baramulla district on Tuesday.

The body of missing assistant engineer Gurmeet Singh was found four days after he went missing from the Lower Jhelum Hydel Project (LJHP) dam at Gantmulla in Baramulla district, police said.
The Baramulla police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the DSP to investigate the case after Gurmeet was reported missing.
Police launched a massive operation involving the SDRF, dog squad, and drone surveillance to uncover clues while appealing for public help.
“After an intensive operation, the dead body of Gurmeet Singh was seen lying in the LJHP dam in Gantmulla. “The body was lifted from the spot and taken to a nearby hospital for medical formalities.
"Further information will be shared once the cause of death and the circumstances leading to his death are determined," police said.
