A 38-year-old man died while trying to protect his son from a group of boys who attacked him with bricks here, a police official said on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Hanif, a resident of South East Delhi's Sanjay Colony area.

According to the official, Hanif's two minor sons were also injured in the collision.
According to the police, the incident happened on Friday around 11 p.m., when Hanif's 14-year-old son dared to take his parked bicycle from a nearby street.

There he met a group of four or five boys riding a bicycle and blocking his way. Despite his request to make way, they refused, leading to a heated argument that quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
Hearing the commotion, Hanif ran out only to find his son's group under attack. While trying to intervene and protect his child, Hanif was targeted by the attackers who attacked him mercilessly with bricks.
"A police team rushed to the spot after receiving a call about the incident. The injured was taken to AIIMS where doctors declared him dead," said a senior police official. "A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused, who is still at large," the official added.
