BSP MP Danish Ali on Friday wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding that BJP MP Ramesh Bidhur's offensive speech in Parliament be sent to the Privileges Committee.
Ali called for an immediate investigation into the matter.
Bidhuri made some disparaging remarks to Ali during the Lok Sabha debate on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission on Thursday night.
"I am writing to you in deep anguish over the speech BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri gave in the Lok Sabha during the debate on Chandrayan's success. During his speech, he made the most vile and insulting attacks against me which are part of the minutes of the BJP. Lok Sabha," Ali said in his letter to Birla. In the letter, the BSP MP listed the objectionable words that Bidhur had used against him.

"This is very unfortunate and the fact that this happened in the new Parliament House under your leadership as Speaker is really heartbreaking for me as a member of the minority and an elected member of this great nation," Ali said.
"I request to refer this matter to the Committee on Privileges under Rule 227 of the Procedure of the Lok Sabha for investigation, inquiry, and report," said the BSP MP from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh.
"This is the only way to discipline an experienced member so that the ethos of our country will no longer waver. I request your goodness to order an inquiry into the matter,” he said. The aforementioned remarks were removed from the record of Parliament and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh immediately expressed regret for Bidhur's behavior in Parliament.
Taking "seriously" Bidhur's remarks, Birla warned the Lok Sabha member from South Delhi of "stern action" if such behavior is repeated in the future, officials said.
