Five Congress MPs were suspended by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday for the remainder of the winter session for "utter disregard to the chair's directions."
TN Prathapan, Hibi Eden, Dean Kuriakose, Jothi Mani, and Ramya Haridas are the MPs who have been suspended.
Prior in the day, Rajya Sabha MP from Trinamool Congress Derek O'Brien was likewise suspended until the end of the meeting by executive Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi made the announcement of the Speaker's decision in the Lok Sabha shortly after the House met at 2:00 p.m.
BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab was in the seat when the choice was perused out.
As soon as the Lower House reconvened at 2 p.m., opposition members led by the Congress rushed to the House Well and yelled slogans in an effort to get a response from Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the security breach that occurred on Wednesday.
Joshi read the decision out loud amid the chaos, explaining that the Speaker had previously dealt with a number of such security breaches in Parliament House in accordance with the rules.
He listed four such incidents that occurred between the years 1974 and 1999.
Joshi stated that the events of December 13 were regrettable and concerned MPs' safety and well-being.
He stated that the Speaker's decision to immediately convene a meeting of all floor leaders to hear their concerns and suggestions was commendable.
According to Joshi, despite the fact that the House requires all lawmakers to rise above politics and speak out against it in unison, some MPs routinely cause trouble in the House.
He then, at that point, reported the names of the five Congress MPs for their suspension.
