Thick mist inundated the public capital on Thursday as cool wave grasped the city, prompting train and flight delays, making bother travelers.

Visuals from the Indira Gandhi Worldwide Air terminal showed travelers lining up at the entryways of the air terminal in the midst of thick haze.

The Delhi air terminal detailed postpones in flight tasks influencing 134 flights, the two appearances and takeoffs (homegrown and worldwide), because of haze. While 35 global flight takeoffs got deferred from Delhi, 28 worldwide appearances got postponed also. Then again, 43 homegrown takeoffs and 28 homegrown appearances got deferred.

22 trains were postponed at the New Delhi Rail route Station, in the midst of low perceivability. Trains like the Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani and Jammu Tawi Rajdhani were behind schedule for over 60 minutes. Visuals from the station showed a few travelers holding up in the midst of gnawing cold.

On Wednesday, the IMD gave a thick mist alert for the public capital. "It is to illuminate to all that Thick mist has proactively set in over certain pockets of Delhi including at IGI Air terminal Palam since 0830pm today of 27th Dec 2023," the IMD said in a post on 'X'.

"Thick haze cautioning for Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi: Exceptionally thick haze in night and morning hours till 30th Dec. morning and Thick haze on 31st Dec. 2023," it said in another post.
