After the Supreme Court's decision to prosecute Ram Janmabhoomi for the longest period of Ayodhya, now people are looking towards the construction of Ram temple. The Supreme Court, in a decision in this case on 9 November 2019, paved the way for the construction of a Ram temple at Ram Janmabhoomi through a trust in Ayodhya.

The country's top court ordered the government to form a trust for the Ram temple in three months. There are now only five days left to complete the November 9 period. Even after this, the Central Government has not yet announced the Ram Temple Trust. This trust in Ayodhya will decide the modus operandi of construction of Ram temple. There is great uneasiness over the creation of trust among saints in Ramnagri Ayodhya. All are awaiting its formation.

After the decision on November 9, 2019 in favor of Ram temple, the Supreme Court was entrusted with the responsibility of forming a new trust for the construction of the temple. Regarding the Ram temple, the court had directed the Center to give the Sunni Waqf Board a five-acre plot in Ayodhya for the construction of a new mosque.

The Supreme Court had also given three months to set up a trust for the construction of the Ram temple. February 9 will be the last day of this period. It is believed that the central government may announce the Ram Mandir Trust in this week.

The responsibility of forming the Ram Mandir Trust rests with the Union Home Ministry of the Central Government. The Ministry of Home Affairs has started the process of forming a trust. Since the Supreme Court's decision on the temple, the government has consulted all the parties including VHP, Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, Sunni Waqf Board. The major challenge for the government is that who should make the President of Ram Mandir Trust. There are dozens of contenders for this one post. Also, who should be replaced as a member in the trust and who is not. It is also with the government. In fact, many big saints and saints of the country have been associated with the Ram temple movement, which is about three decades old. Now even if the government edges someone, it will be very difficult.

Trust formation process

The central government will first have to bring the proposal of Ram Mandir Trust to the cabinet meeting, where important things like the constitution's blueprint of the trust and information of the members will have to be told. Who will be the members in this trust, how will it work and how will the Ram temple be constructed. All things will be decided in the cabinet meeting itself. The trust will also have financial powers for the construction of the temple and the trust will fully monitor the expenses of construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The central government can also bring a bill for this trust in Parliament, but it has less time. Along with the declaration of Ram Mandir Trust, a plot of three lands identified by the UP government for the mosque will also be proposed for approval in the cabinet. After this, the Sunni Waqf Board will have to decide whether to choose any one of the three lands.
