It is highly offensive and unjust that the J&K government is needlessly harassing thousands of honest electricity consumers by frequently switching from digital to smart and now prepaid meters without initiating consultations with civil society and elected officials. This was said by Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) President Arun Gupta in a statement to the media in the presence of CCI Senior Vice President Anil Gupta. Rajeev Gupta Jr. CCI Vice Chairman, Rajesh Gupta CCI Secretary, Rajesh Gupta CCI Treasurer.

The CCI chairman expressed grave concern at the frequent government action taken in the name of combating power theft at J&K, stating that switching from one type of meter to another would not be effective as the true cause was the maximum transmission loss.
