Yamuna reaches the danger level; Gujrat issued an orange alert

The Yamuna River continued to flow past the capital's danger mark of 205.33 meters. 10 was 206.44 meters.
00:00 on Sunday. Due to rising water levels, the old Yamuna Bridge (formerly Lohapur) was closed to traffic on Sunday evening.

Rising water levels have sparked renewed fears of flood-like conditions in the state capital and neighboring areas.

Officials said floods had eased after heavy rains in the heavy rain-hit Junagadh district of Gujarat state, but the focus was now on restoring normalcy. Nearly 3,000 people have been relocated to safer locations in the district, officials said. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an "orange" warning for Gujarat on Sunday, saying "heavy to very heavy rain" could be expected in the state on 24 July.

More than 300 villages in 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh have been affected by floods and several rivers such as Ganga and Yamuna. Four people have died in rain-related incidents in the state in the last 24 hours.
