Previous officials Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Gyanesh Kumar have been named as the new political race magistrates by a board led by Head of the state Narendra Modi, council part and Congress pioneer Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said on Thursday.

"Of the six names, the names of Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu were settled for arrangement as political decision magistrates," he said.

During his residency in the Home service, Gyanesh Kumar regulated the revocation of Article 370.
