Striking daily rate workers (DRWs) extended their strike by another 24 hours as the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department struggled to restore the drinking water supply in Jammu.

The administration has deployed police force around the pumping stations and filtration plants to stop agitating workers from forcibly shutting down machinery.
