Amid the looming threat of Covid, the Union Territories (UTs) of J&K and Ladakh have ordered closure of all educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universities, for all teaching and normal class work till March 31.

People have also been advised to avoid public transport and public gatherings as a precautionary measure in view of emerging situation due to the coronavirus threat.

However, the J&K administration said all board and competitive examinations would be conducted as per schedule.

“All educational institutions, private and public, including schools, colleges, universities, in J&K will suspend their teaching and class work till March 31. However, board and other competitive examination shall be conducted as per schedule,” Bhupinder Kumar, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), J&K, told reporters here on Thursday evening.
