J&K: Panic grows as cases reaches to 581

Coronavirus cases continue to rise in Kashmir as 16 more have tested positive on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases in J&K to 581. 16 new positive cases have been reported today in Kashmir. Moreover, equal number of Covid-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, the media bulletin on Covid-19 stated. The fresh cases have been reported from the worst-affected districts in Kashmir with Anantnag reporting nine cases, Budgam four and Baramulla, Srinagar and Kulgam reporting one each. “We know the sources of all coronavirus positive cases. We are definitely not in community spread phase,” said Kashmir Divisional Commissioner PK Pole. Majority of the Covid-19 positive cases, 523, are from Kashmir while 58 are from Jammu Division. Official data states that 18,450 tests were conducted of which 17,869 reports were negative and 581 positive. At least eight people have died and 192 have recovered from Covid so far.
