Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is sharing the details of the second economic package now. Sitharaman says the second tranche of economic stimulus package will benefit migrant workers, street vendors and small farmers. Sitharaman announced free food grains supply to all migrants for the next 2 months. For non-card holders, she said they shall be given 5kg wheat/rice per person & 1 kg chana per family/month for 2 months. The scheme will benefit 8 crore migrants and nearly Rs 3500 crores will be earmarked for it. The finance minister also spoke about the One Nation One Ration Card that will be implemented and will cover 67 crore beneficiaries in 23 states of the country and encompass 83% of public distribution system (PDS) population coming under national portability by August this year.
