The COVID-19 pandemic has brought the whole world to a standstill. Since March, India has been under nationwide lockdown. While the first three phases of lockdown lasted till May 17, imposing several restrictions on individuals across the nation, the country is continuing its fight versus the invisible enemy in the form of the novel coronavirus pandemic with the commencement of Lockdown 4.0 from May 18. However, the fourth phase of lockdown has brought some relaxations for the commoners across the nation. In terms of sports, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) laid out new guidelines and rules to adhere strictly during Lockdown 4.0. It has been mentioned that stadiums will be allowed to function, however, without spectators. The MHA press release stated, Sports complexes and stadia will be permitted to open; however, spectators will not be allowed. Hence, here is an All you need to know about government guidelines with regards to sporting activities during Lockdown 4.0:-

1) Stadiums will now be open
2) This means that sports athletes can train and practice individually in stadiums
3) However, spectators will still not be allowed to enter the stadium premises
4) There still remains time for hosting big sporting events.

There, however, remains few unclear questions, such as how many can be involved during practice sessions in stadiums and if the provisions include for a commoner to enter the ground and play as well.
