J&K : 9 flights to operate from today

Amid rising number of fresh cases of coronavirus, out of the total 11 flights, nine will arrive here and take off for four destinations after a gap of two months on Monday. As the Centre has given nod to restart the domestic flights from Monday, the Jammu airport is all set to start operations from Monday morning. As per officials of the Airports Authority of India, the Jammu airport will start operating nine flights from Monday, out of which eight will be daily flights for Delhi, Srinagar, Gwalior and Mumbai. All passengers arriving at the Jammu airport will be sampled for Covid-19 test and will be sent to quarantine till their report arrives. The AAI had already made the necessary arrangements to start operating flights before the announcement by the Centre. Pravat Ranjan Beuria, Director Airport, Jammu, said, Arrangements have been made for ensuring social distancing, thermal scanning, sanitising the baggage and passengers. We are assuring that sanitation of the premises is done and social distancing is maintained among the staff and passengers. The AAI has marked the spots for proper social distancing of passengers at the airport and its premises is being sanitised from time to time. As per the directions by the Centre, a personal protection equipment (PPE) kit will be provided to the passengers by the airlines and arrangements for the sanitisation of the premises and passenger baggage will be done by the airport staff.
