Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, who has tested positive for COVID-19, was on Friday put on oxygen support following a deterioration in his lung infection. This was disclosed by the Office of the Delhi Health Minister. Earlier in the day, the ministers office had said that Jain was being given oxygen support only when required. It had further said that the ministers health was improving. "Satyendar Jain is now being given oxygen support only at times when it is needed; his fever has also reduced. His health is improving," the office had stated. In Jains absence, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is looking after the affairs of the Health Ministry, which is tasked with the prevention and treatment of coronavirus in the national capital.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said after the minister tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week: "Without taking care of your health, you were engaged in public service 24 hours a day. Take care and get well soon." Jain continues to remain a minister without any portfolio, as all departments being looked after by him have been temporarily given to Sisodia.
