In India, the first phase of vaccine trial started, 375 people as per the reports. The vaccine for COVID-19 is developed by Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL).

Further, the trial of Covaxin had also started from July 15. The Hyderabad based Pharmaceutical Company has jointly developed the vaccine with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and National Institute of Virology (NIV).

This test is being carried out by 12 Hospitals. The vaccine manufacturers said that "there are randomized double-blind clinical trials". Some of the volunteers will be vaccinated. However, neither of the patients nor the researchers would know who has been given the vaccine, which will be revealed only after the test period is over.
