COVID-19: 96,424 cases in 24 hours push India's caseload to over 52 lakh

Coronavirus cases in India have climbed to 52 lakh after a record single-day spike of 96,424 infections on Friday, according to the health ministry data. With as many as 1,174 case fatalities, India's death toll due to Covid-19 infection is now at 84,372. Meanwhile, the health ministry has said that around 60% of the active cases in India are concentrated in only 5 most affected states. In Delhi, the cases will see a rise in the next 10 days as testing capacity has been quadrupled, the health minister said. Delhi has been witnessing over 4,000 coronavirus cases every day.
