A year into Sri Lanka's presidency amid economic and political turmoil, Ranil Wickremesinghe will visit India on a bilateral visit on July 20 and 21.

Wickremesinghe has visited India several times in various capacities over the past 30 years, but this will be his first visit since taking office last July.

The State Department announced the visit on Tuesday, saying:
“At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe will pay an official visit to India on 21 July 2023. It will be President Wickremesinghe's first visit to India since taking office.”
