An Air India flight from Bengaluru with more than 280 people on board to San Francisco (SFO) was diverted to the Alaskan city due to a technical problem, an airline official said.
After the problem was resolved, flight AI 175 took off and landed in San Francisco at 1000 IST on Monday, the official said.
More than 280 people were on board and the flight later landed at its destination after a delay of about four hours, the official said.
An Air India spokesperson said in a statement that the flight was briefly diverted to Anchorage, Alaska due to a technical issue.

“All passengers were well taken care of and the flight continued to San Francisco where it landed safely. Air India apologizes for any inconvenience the delay may cause,” the spokesperson said.
Generally, the flight time from Bengaluru to San Francisco is around 16 hours.
