Apple will sell the "Make in India" iPhone 15 on the first day of global sales in its country and export to some other markets, reliable sources said on Tuesday.
People involved told IANS that the India-made iPhone 15 will be available on the first day of its global sale.
The new iPhone 15 series is likely to go on sale within days or weeks of its release on Tuesday (US time).
According to sources, a small batch of "Make in India" iPhone 15 units will be exported to other countries shortly after its global launch.

In August, Apple manufacturer Foxconn ramped up local production of the next-generation iPhone 15 faster than ever at its Sriperumbudur plant near Tamil Nadu as the company doubled down on its "Make in India" initiative. Sources close to the development told IANS that Apple plans to ship the locally assembled iPhone 15 as soon as it launches globally in the middle of next month to close the gap between launch and availability and increase its exports from India to other countries.
Last year, Apple began assembling the iPhone 14 at its Foxconn factory in India in September, the first time in years that a new iPhone was assembled within weeks of its global launch in the country.

The iPhone 15 is expected to be the most significant upgrade to a device in the last three years. It includes upgrades to the camera system across the range, with the Pro models getting an improved 3nm processor.
The iPhone 15 is also expected to include USB-C for the first time. The introduction of a USB-C charging port on the iPhone 15 aims to herald a new era for Apple.
Driven by domestic production, Apple's iPhones are expected to garner a 7 percent share of the Android smartphone market in India this year.

The speed of the iPhone market in India was boosted by the sales of the previous generation iPhone devices.
