A Congress chief from Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday said that party chief Rahul Gandhi will challenge the Lok Sabha political decision from Amethi - a body electorate he has addressed a few times starting around 2002.

Congress Locale President Pradeep Singhal, who returned after a gathering in Delhi, said Gandhi will be the party competitor from Amethi and his name would be declared soon.

Gandhi, a previous Congress president, addressed Amethi in Parliament from 2002 to 2019.

In 2019 General Political decision, he lost to BJP's Smriti Irani. He is currently MP from Kerala's Wayanad.
