In Jammu and Kashmir, it has made complete preparations to deal with the coronavirus. Vigilance is further enhanced. Passengers from other affected countries including China, Nepal will be screened at the state airport.

The government has directed to set up control rooms in Srinagar and Jammu. Apart from this, all measures are being taken to check suspected patients at railway stations, airports. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Financial Commissioner of Health and Medical Education Department Atal Dullu held a meeting with departmental officials to discuss the action plan to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the state.

It was decided in the meeting that samples of patients suspected of having symptoms of the virus will be sent to the National Institute of Biological, Pune for examination. Isolation wards will be set up in medical colleges in Jammu and Srinagar, Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Saura and other districts where a special team will be deployed.

Advisory to Deputy Commissioners
At the meeting, an advisory has been issued to all the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir to deal with suspected cases. Advisory includes setting up rapid response teams, enhancing surveillance, laboratory diagnosis capability and marking of Isolation wards.

Instructions to raise awareness
The Commissioner Secretary directed to adopt Information Education and Communication (IEC) strategy so that people are educated about preventive measures. Awareness will be promoted on a large scale in public places like hospital premises, airports, railway stations, etc.

Ensure availability of safety equipment, masks.
He instructed the authorities to ensure all available for personal protective equipment, N-95 masks, and other logistic arrangements.
