A petition was filed in the Delhi High Court demanding that 10 MPs from J&K be banned from entering the Parliament House. The petition states that the state has been divided, but 10 MPs are frozen in office, while their entry into Parliament should be stopped.

A petition filed by separatist leader Abdul Ghani Butt said that six MPs of Lok Sabha and four members of Rajya Sabha are illegally holding their posts. Some leaders, including Congress's Ghulam Nabi Azad and Jammu and Kashmir National Conference chairman Farooq Abdullah, are enjoying their salaries and facilities on public money. An order should be issued to the central government that these 10 MPs of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir be banned with immediate effect. Because their presence in Parliament is unethical, illegal and unconstitutional.

Whatever salary and other facilities the MP gets, be banned with immediate effect. On August 5, special state status was withdrawn from Jammu and Kashmir and divided into two union territories. One Union Territory is Jammu and Kashmir and the other is Ladakh.
