People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Fayyaz Ahmad Mir compared the Public Safety Law (PSA) in Jammu and Kashmir to the coronavirus spread across China, saying people are afraid to talk on both issues. He said that there is democracy in this country, but if you say anything, they put the PSA virus on you. China has Coronavirus and we have PSA. That is why people are afraid to talk about issues related to Kashmir. In fact, they fear that they may be taken into custody under the PSA.

Mir said that despite being a Member of Parliament, I am afraid of PSA. Who knows when the police will come and arrest me under the PSA. He also questioned the announcement of panchayat by-elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir in March. He said that only last year, the central government has conducted urban body and panchayat elections. Not only this, but it was also claimed that people participated in these elections in a big way and the voting percentage was 100 percent. But now the government is confusing the people by announcing the by-elections to the vacant posts of panch-sarpanches once again.

Mir said that elections are usually held once every five years. But elections are being held in Kashmir every three months. This shows the state of Kashmir. The government has proved that no one participated in the elections held last year. Mir also said that the delegation of foreign envoys in the region is a type of diplomatic tourism being conducted by the government. This will not affect the condition of the people.
