The Jammu and Kashmir Bank today announced that all appointments in the Bank will be made according to the Domicile Law issued by the Union Home Ministry for J&K.

This became evident when the J&K Bank issued advertisement for the post of Managing Director of the Bank as per Domicile Law of J&K UT.
The Bank has categorically rejected the charges by Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) president and former Finance Minister Altaf Bukhari alleging violation of Domicile Law in the appointment of Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of the Bank.

The Bank clarified that the post of CFO had been advertised before the Domicile Law was finalized. After the Domicile Law was enacted by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the advertisement was put on hold and the selection process was concluded. However, they said, no formal order of the appointment has been issued.
“There will be complete transparency and accountability in the appointments,” the Bank said, adding the institution was now functioning as per the CVC guidelines.
