Several universities, including IGNOU, have postponed the examinations to be held in June due to the lockdown implemented to prevent the outbreak of Corona virus. Most of these exams will now be taken in July. A large part of the examinations in July can also be completed through online mediums. In most universities, the postponed June examinations will be held from July 1. Existing college students have to appear for the exams before entering the new semester.

The special committee constituted by the UGC has said that it is recommended to conduct examinations in the universities during the month of July. Normally, the examinations of first and second year students in colleges are conducted between the months of May to June, but these examinations have been pushed forward in view of the lockdown.

At the same time, IGNOU has made many important changes along with avoiding the term-end examinations. As of now, new dates have not been announced. Indira Gandhi National Open University has postponed the term-end examination held in June. Along with this, IGNOU has postponed the TTE 2020 exam which was to start from June 1.

Chancellor of IGNOU Prof. Nageswara Rao said, "Students will be given ample time to fill the examination form. Time will be given for submission of assessments and other things. The last date for re-registering for the course has been extended to 31 May."

IGNOU will inform the students about the exam date 15 days before the exam. Apart from the examination, the dates of submission of assessments and nomination have also been changed. In view of the lockdown, IGNOU has allowed the submission of projects online. The same date has now been extended till May 31, 2020 for submission of term-end examination forms.
