Two Rohingyas among three arrested for trying to break an ATM machine in Jammu

JAMMU: The Jammu Police arrested three people, including two Rohingyas, for attempting to break an ATM bank on Tuesday at Trikuta Nagar area of the city. Of the three arrested, one has a notorious past who was also involved in a drug trafficking case.

According to the Police, the manager of CMS Info System Ltd Trikuta Nagar, Ratta Lal, a resident of Jagti, Nagrota lodged a written complaint at the police station, Bahu Fort, claiming, that some burglars attempted to break open an ICICI ATM installed, near Baggar Mandi, Trikuta Nagar. Acting on the complaint, the police lodged an F.I.R and constituted special teams to nab the culprits.

"After strenuous efforts by the police teams led by Inspector Deepak Pathania, SHO, Police Station Bahu Fort, the accused involved in the crime were apprehended," said a police official. The accused were identified as Babloo Kumar of Bhagalpur (Bihar), Noor-ul-Islam and Hussain Ahmed, both the residents of Burma, residing at Marathi Mohalla, Trikuta Nagar.

Pathania said that the suspects confessed their crime on questioning and after their disclosure items like modem, a cutter with 14 meter wire, steel rod, hammer, knife and blades were recovered from their possession.
