Both for Android and iOS, Google has beefed up password security for Chrome with Chrome 86 that has just gone live.

Google has made password security much stronger for Chrome on both Android and iOS by rolling out security updates into the latest version of the browser. This makes the mobile version more like the desktop version that is quite strong on security and password matters. Chrome 86, which has just gone live, will support Safety Check on Android and iOS, Enhanced Safe Browsing on Android and improved password-filling on iOS, Google mentioned in its blog.

Google is also implementing a program that recognises when a password has been compromised and immediately takes users to the appropriate Change Password form. This new feature will be active on iOS and Android both and ties into Googles Safety Check system which scans compromised passwords and ensures Chrome is up-to-date. It also checks on whether Safe Browsing is on or not.

Also, the Android versions of Chrome are getting upgraded with Enhanced Safe Browsing. This option was made available for desktop versions of Chrome in May this year and the feature shares data with Google in real-time and also proactively checks for malware and phishing attempts in webpages and in downloads.
