Peaceful strike by the Casual labour's union, Jammu for the immediate regularization of their services

Jammu
November 3, 2020

Today a 72 hours of peaceful strike held by the Estate employees casual labour union, Jammu Province under the leadership of President Sh. Kuldeep Raj Sharma, demanding immediate regularization of their services.

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir is well appraised of the fact that a large number of workers say about 60,000 have been engaged by the government from time to time during the past 25 years in different departments for the smooth functioning of the work. Now the J&K government is likely to recruit nearly 50,000 employees in different categories.

"Sir by the then BJP PDP govt had issued SRO 520 in which we the need based employees see light of the day and hope that we and our children will get benefit out of it.
J&K Govt has issued an SRO 520 on 21 December 2017 for the regularization of all casual labours working departments, that our files were also processed during the meeting held in the Administrative department thereafter submitted to the Finance department for regularization but nothing has been done so far due to which we poor workers are suffering very badly." said Kuldeep Sharma.

In the backdrop of above mentioned facts, it is therefore, requested that need based workers may be regularized under SRO 64 and implement minimum wages act, 2019 otherwise we will bound to use the judicial powers thereby starting strong and massive agitations for which responsibility shall be of the Ut Govt.
