Rain and snowfall continues in UT Jammu and Kashmir and UT Ladakh. In most districts of Kashmir, the day temperature has gone up by 5-8 degrees below normal. Day temperatures in many districts have gone below 10 degrees. Many districts of Jammu division remained cloudy throughout the day, but the austerity also persisted.  Meteorological Center Srinagar has also warned of heavy rain and snowfall in parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. During this period, a landslide has been feared, due to which the Jammu Srinagar National Highway may get hit. 

In the summer capital, Srinagar, the process of heavy rains started from Thursday morning and continued till the evening. The daytime temperature has dropped to 5.6 degrees below normal to 8.6 degrees Celsius. Snowfall has occurred in the mountainous areas of Kupwara, Handbada, Sadhana Top, Razdan Top, Sonamarg, Baltal, Jojila, etc. including Gulmarg, a world famous tourist destination. Cold winds are blowing from the snowfall. 

However, in most districts of Kashmir, the minimum night temperature is 2-4 degrees above normal. In Jammu, Thursday began with clouds and strong winds. At that time it seemed that Indradev would be kind. But the weather continued to fluctuate throughout the day. In the afternoon, sunshine also blossomed and there was a feeling of heat. But in the evening, it was cloudy again. 

In Jammu, the day temperature rose 3.0 degrees above normal to 29.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature last night was 16.9 degrees Celsius. The day temperature in Banihal of the division was 12.2, 26.3 in Katra, 16.2 in Bhadarwah, 15.7 degrees Celsius in Batot. 

Last night's minimum temperature was -4.7 in Leh and -4.0 degrees in Kargil. Those traveling on the Srinagar-Jammu, Srinagar-Ladakh route have been advised to take precautions.
