The teenage daughter of popular actor and music director Vijay Antony died of a suspected suicide at her residence here on Tuesday, the police said.
The 16-year-old girl was found dead in her apartment in Teynampet in the early hours of the morning and was rushed to a hospital in the city where she was pronounced dead.
She was one of the two daughters of Antony and studied in the 12th standard in a private school here.
According to them, a case of unnatural death has been registered and an investigation is ongoing.

Reacting to her death, veteran actor R Sarathkumar said, “The news of the untimely and unfortunate death of @vijayantony and Fatima's daughter is shocking beyond imagination. No amount of consolation and sympathy can replace the eternal grief of Vijay Antony and Fatima.

Posting his condolences on social media platform X, he said, "Vijay, I hope almighty gives your family the strength to bear the unimaginable loss."


In a message to X, filmmaker Venkat Prabhu said, "Woke up to this shocking news! My deepest condolences to Vijay Antony Sir and their family.
