Aug 18, 2025: In the wake of the recent tragic cloudburst, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has sent four senior IAS officers and an equal number of IPS officers to Chashoti in the Kishtwar district to oversee the ongoing relief and rescue efforts. From August 19 to August 26, the officers will oversee operations on a roster basis in accordance with a government order. The Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, Chandraker Bharti, and the Inspector General of Police (Operations & Services), Uttam Chand, will be on duty on August 19 and 20. The measures will be overseen by Sujit Kumar, Inspector General of Police (Security), and Anil Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department, on August 21 and 22. M will join Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Shaleen Kabra, Jal Shakti Department, on August 23 and 24. Inspector General of Police Suleman Choudhary (Traffic). Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Secretary of the Science and Technology Department, and Vivek Gupta, Inspector General of Police (Railways), will oversee the relief and rescue efforts on August 25 and 26 as the schedule comes to a close.
